The common buckthorn (Lycium barbarum) is a nightshade plant from the buckthorn genus. The plant is also called common devil's twine and Chinese wolfberry and is a component of Chinese cuisine and traditional Chinese medicine. In Asia, the good properties of goji berries have been known for centuries, which is why the goji berry enjoys great popularity. Up to 50g per day can be consumed. It can be added to muesli, tea, soup or simply taken pure. The effect of the different ingredients is partly enhanced by the temperature differences.
