The plant got its name from the main active ingredient diosgenin, which was derived from the name of the famous Greek physician Dioscorides from the 1st century AD. Diosgenin helps women with menopausal problems, prevents osteoporosis, is said to slow down the ageing process and has an aphrodisiac effect.
In America, the plant plays an important role in rheumatism therapy.

Indication

For rheumatism, gout, irritable bowel syndrome, muscle cramps, menstrual cramps, menopausal symptoms

How to use

Add 1-2 teaspoons to approx. 250 ml boiling water.
For irritable bowel syndrome, drink 1/2 cup 2 times a day.
