Aloe vera is an evergreen, succulent plant from the Asphodelaceae family with fleshy, lanceolate leaves that grow in a dense rosette. The leaves are grey-green, have small, white teeth on the edge and contain a gel-like tissue inside that stores water. An upright inflorescence with yellow to orange-coloured, tubular flowers grows from the centre of the plant.
