Berberis aquifol. Rad. conc., cut root, from conventional cultivation
The Oregon grape (Mahonia aquifolium) is an evergreen shrub from the barberry family with leathery, shiny leaves that are pointed and serrated, reminiscent of holly. In spring, striking yellow flowers appear in dense clusters, from which dark, bluish frosted berries develop. It reaches a height of about 1 to 2 metres and has a characteristic yellow-coloured root bark that contains numerous medically effective bitter substances.
Indication
Stimulates digestion, supports liver function, antifungal, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory.
Application
Add 1 teaspoon to 250 ml of cold water, bring slowly to the boil, simmer for 5-10 minutes, strain and drink lukewarm, 1-2 cups daily for a maximum of 1 week.
Not suitable for pregnant women, breastfeeding women and children.
