Horse chestnut leaves come from the horse chestnut tree (Aesculus hippocastanum) and are palmate in shape with 5 to 7 elongated, toothed individual leaves. They are fresh green in spring, turn yellow to brown in autumn and reach a length of up to 30 cm. Their striking shape makes them characteristic of the tree species and they play a role in naturopathy, particularly in the treatment of venous disorders.

Indication

Against heart and circulatory problems, strengthens the vascular walls, dilates the coronary vessels, against cranial veins and inflammation of the upper respiratory tract

Uses

Use tea or tincture internally in moderation (rich in poisonous saponins),
1 teaspoon to 250ml hot water, leave to infuse for 5-10 minutes, do not consume over a longer period of time
