Angosturae Cort.conc., cut bark, from conventional cultivation

Angostura bark comes from the Cusparia febrifuga tree (Rutaceae family), which is native to South America. The tree grows to a height of 5-20 metres, has pinnate, aromatic leaves, small yellowish to reddish flowers and multi-seeded capsules as fruit. Its bark is brown-grey on the outside, yellowish-orange on the inside and has a bitter taste.

Many bitter substances - therefore traditionally used to aid digestion, has a soothing effect on the stomach and intestines
