Dulse algae (Palmaria palmata) is an edible red algae that occurs in cold, nutrient-rich marine waters of the North Atlantic and North Pacific. It has a flat, lobed thallus with a reddish to purple colour and grows on rocky coastal areas, where it attaches itself with an adhesive disc.
