Zanthoxylum piperitum, whole, from certified organic cultivation
Szechuan pepper belongs to the genus Zanthoxylum in the rue family (Rutaceae). Botanically, it has nothing in common with true pepper: what is used are the aromatic fruit husks, which are unmistakable for their fresh, lemony scent and the characteristic tingling sensation on the tongue.
Szechuan pepper originates in China, where it has been valued for centuries as a spice and remedy. It found its way into the world via the trade routes of Asia and is now an indispensable part of international gourmet cuisine.
Its most famous use remains in Sichuan cuisine, where it completes the typical “ma-la” flavor profile - numbing-hot and intensely spicy.
Traditionell verwendet bei:
- Verdauungsbeschwerden
- Blähungen
- Völlegefühl
- leichten Magenkrämpfe
- Appetitanregung
- Kältegefühl im Bauch (TCM-Konzept)
- Leichten Schmerzen
Hinweis: Kein Arzneimittel.
In normalen Küchenmengen gut verträglich.
