Punica granatum L. is a deciduous shrub or small tree from the Lythraceae family, native to Western Asia. The plant is striking for its bright red, tubular flowers and bears spherical fruits containing numerous juicy seeds.
Indications
External use for skin problems, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, immune system booster
Application
As a tea: Add 1 teaspoon to 250 ml of hot water (80°C) and leave to steep for 10-15 minutes, covered, then strain. Drink up to 2 cups daily.
As a steam bath: add 1 tablespoon to 500 ml of hot water, hold your face over the steam for 5-10 minutes.
Do not overdose, as pomegranate peels contain many tannins and can irritate the stomach.
