Hordeum vulgare L., ground grass, grown and harvested in Bavaria, from certified organic cultivation.
Food supplement for preparing a drink.
Barley grass comes from the young, freshly sprouted stalks of barley (Hordeum vulgare), a traditional crop from the sweet grass family (Poaceae). The grass is harvested at an early stage of development, before the ears form. After harvesting, it is gently dried and then ground so that its colour, structure and plant properties are largely preserved.
The green shoots are gently ground into a fine powder, making it easier for the body to absorb the nutrients.
Barley is one of the oldest cereals cultivated by humans. Its cultivation can be traced back to the early advanced civilisations of the Middle East. In addition to the use of the grains, the young green shoots of the plant also attracted attention in various regions and were mentioned in historical records and botanical writings.
