Cuminum cyminum, whole seeds, certified organic

Cumin is an annual herbaceous plant in the parsley family (Apiaceae). It grows to a height of 30 to 50 cm and has fine, thread-like leaves that are divided into narrow segments.

In Ayurveda, cumin (Cuminum cyminum) is valued for its warming and digestive properties. It helps to strengthen the digestive fire (Agni) and aids digestion, especially with heavy or fatty meals. Cumin is considered to balance Vata and Kapha and, in moderate amounts, can also support the Pitta dosha.

Indications

Flatulence, intestinal colic, liver and stomach weakness, stimulating, antibacterial, antispasmodic and tonifying.

Saint Hildegard recommends cumin, which she also calls mother cumin, for allergies and food intolerances.

How to use

as a tea: add 1-2 teaspoons to 250ml of hot water (80°C), leave to steep for 5-10 minutes and strain.

Used in many ways in international cuisine, particularly in Indian and Middle Eastern cuisine, for curries, stews and rice dishes.

Fantastisch, wird als Tee eingesetzt für eine gute Verdauung: Koriander, Kreuzkümmel, Fenchel bitter. Habe seither keine Verdauungsprobleme mehr! :-) Trinke davon 2-4 Tassen am Tag!
