Betonica officinalis L. (synonym: Stachys officinalis or Stachys betonica), cut herb, from certified organic farming
Betonia is a perennial plant from the labiate family. It grows to a height of 30 to 60 cm and has square stems and egg-shaped, toothed leaves. Its violet to purple flowers form dense, spike-like inflorescences and bloom from June to August. Betonia grows in meadows and forest edges and prefers sunny to semi-shady locations.
Indication
Hemostatic, astringent, tonic, expectorant, for diarrhea and intestinal complaints, sore throat, mouth inflammation, gum inflammation, asthma, weakness, gout, rheumatism
How to use
Pour 1/4 liter of hot water (80°C) over 1 heaped teaspoon and leave to infuse for at least 15 minutes. After straining, the tea is ready for use and can be drunk 1 cup 1-3 times a day as required.
