Turmeric root is botanically a rhizome, an underground shoot that serves as a storage and survival organ for the plant. It contains curcumin, which gives the typical colour and health-promoting properties.
In Ayurveda, turmeric root is valued for its warming and balancing properties. It is used to support the digestive fire (Agni) and to promote digestion. Turmeric is considered particularly beneficial for the Pitta dosha because it has cooling properties and helps to balance Vata and Kapha.

Use
Add 1 teaspoon of powder to 150ml of boiling water, cover and leave to infuse for 10 minutes, do not strain. Drink 1 cup 2-3 times a day, take tea 1/2 hour before meals.
