Medicinal herbs for animals
For many pet owners, herbs have long been part of everyday life – as a small, natural addition to their pets’ food. Whether for dogs, cats or horses, numerous plants have a long tradition in animal feeding and can be easily mixed into their usual food.
At Herbathek, you’ll find a wide selection of medicinal herbs for animals: from the classics to rarer plants and roots.

Herbs for dogs, cats and horses
Every animal is different, and this also applies to their herbal requirements. Size, species and the individual circumstances all play a part. A one-size-fits-all mixture rarely meets these needs. That is why Herbathek offers herbs for dogs individually, either chopped or ground, depending on the plant.
Herbs have also traditionally been added to horses’ daily feed. Individual herbs have the advantage here of being easily combined with the animal’s existing feed. A little more caution is required with cats: what is safe for a dog or horse is by no means necessarily suitable for a cat. Anyone looking for herbs for cats should therefore pay close attention to the specific species.
Wide selection of individual herbs
Our range includes, amongst others, stinging nettle, valerian, mugwort, rockrose, bloodroot and field horsetail.
If you want to tailor your cat’s diet to their individual needs, individual herbs are a better option than a ready-made mixture: this allows you to choose exactly the right plant for your cat and their specific dietary requirements. Part of the range is also available in organic or Demeter quality.
Herbathek’s Quality
We care deeply about where our herbs come from and how they are processed. Herbathek stands for many years of experience and an extensive range; as well as herbs for animals, you’ll also find medicinal herbs, teas and other natural products.
Whether you’re looking for individual herbs for your dog, the right plant for your horse or a tailored selection for daily feeding: at Herbathek, you can browse through our range of herbs and find exactly what suits your pet.
Notes on use
Not every herb is suitable for every animal. In cases of pre-existing conditions, during pregnancy, for young animals or whilst the animal is taking medication, the use of herbs should be discussed with a vet beforehand. The same applies to dosage: always choose the appropriate amount for the species and the individual animal.
