History:
Yarrow is one of the oldest medicinal plants and was already mentioned by Pliny, Hippocrates, and Dioscorides. Pastor Kneipp is said to have written: “Women would be spared a lot of harm if they reached for yarrow every now and then!” The name Achillea millefolium is derived from the war hero Achilles, who is said to have treated the fresh battle wounds of a comrade with yarrow before Troy. The species name millefolium (= thousand-leaf) refers to the finely divided leaf blade. In folk medicine, preparations made from yarrow are used for local hemostasis. However, its effectiveness has not been proven.
Active ingredient/harvest time:
During the flowering period from June to October, cut the entire flowering herb about a hand's width above the ground. Then tie small bundles of the medicinal plants and hang them with the flowers facing downwards in a dry, shady place.
Ingredients:
Essential oil, including monoterpenes such as camphor and cineol, sesquiterpenes such as guaianolides, which include proazulenes such as achillicin, azulene, eucalyptol, tannins, flavonoids, bitter compounds, antibiotic substances (sesquiterpenoids such as achimillic acid ester), salicylic acid, coumarins, polyines, triterpenes, and betaines.

Sehr gute Qualität und feiner Geschmack

Schmeckt sehr schwach
Leider bin ich sehr enttäuscht von diesem Tee. Ich trinke nun seit Jahren immer wieder kurweise Schafgarbe-Tee. Dieser schmeckte bis dato immer schön kräftig und angenehm bitter. Der Tee, den ich hier habe, schmeckt leider nahezu nach nichts bzw. extrem schwach. Selbst wenn ich zwei Teelöffel pro Tasse nehme und den Tee zehn Minuten ziehen lasse, schmeckt er immer noch sehr wässrig. Vielleicht ist es ja nur Geschmackssache...
