Trace elements: Vital building blocks for our body

Carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins and minerals are absolutely essential for our body. Trace elements are important minerals that occur in the body in a concentration of less than 50 mg per kilogram of body weight.

We distinguish between essential and non-essential trace elements. Non-essential trace elements include arsenic, silicon, boron, tin, nickel, lithium, lead and vanadium. They also occur in the body, but are not vital for metabolic processes.

Which trace elements are essential?

The essential trace elements include:

- Iron

- fluorine

- iodine

- copper

- manganese

- Molybdenum

- selenium

- Zinc

Why are trace elements so important?

Nothing works without trace elements. Although we only need them in small quantities, they are extremely important for our body. If essential trace elements are missing, our body suffers from serious deficiency symptoms. An iron deficiency, for example, can cause anaemia. A deficiency of iodine can cause metabolic disorders.

An undersupply can have the following reasons:

- Incorrect diet

- Regional conditions such as the composition of drinking water

- Increased excretion through sweating or diarrhoea

- Metabolic diseases

If it is not possible for us to take in the essential trace elements through food, we can also find a remedy with high-quality food supplements. Our product "Iron Plus", for example, ensures an optimal supply and high bioavailability in our body thanks to its double iron fumarate.
