Taraxaci Rad., dandelion root, ground, from certified organic cultivation

Taraxacum officinale, commonly known as dandelion, belongs to the Asteraceae family and is a perennial, herbaceous plant with a deep taproot. The root is brownish on the outside, light on the inside and stores nutrients for the plant's survival. It prefers to grow in nutrient-rich soils and is widespread in large parts of Europe, Asia and North America.

The roots are usually harvested in autumn when they are particularly rich in nutrients.
