The term ‘natural cosmetics’ generally refers to cosmetics made from natural raw materials. Unlike conventional cosmetics, natural cosmetic products do not contain any harmful ingredients such as silicones, parabens, synthetic fragrances, paraffins and other petroleum products. The conventional industry uses, among other things, hormonally active substances that are associated with all kinds of side effects and even diseases. The ingredients in natural cosmetics, on the other hand, are predominantly of plant origin, but also of mineral or animal origin. For this reason, natural cosmetics are much gentler and kinder to our skin than conventional cosmetics.

Since the term “natural cosmetics” is not clearly defined or legally regulated, each manufacturer can set their own guidelines for what constitutes natural cosmetics. A distinction is usually made between “near-natural cosmetics” and “true natural cosmetics.” Near-natural cosmetics are largely produced conventionally and contain only a few or isolated ingredients of natural origin. In contrast, true natural cosmetics consist almost entirely of natural substances, with very few exceptions.
