Spelt hulls are the outer husks of the spelt grain, an ancient cereal from the sweet grass family (Poaceae). They firmly encase the grain and must be removed mechanically after harvesting, as spelt is a husked grain. The husks are light, elastic and permeable to air - properties that make them particularly popular as a natural filling material.

Application

Spelt husks have many uses in the health and wellness sector: as a pillow filling, also ideal for tension, sore muscles and abdominal pain

Spelt hulls are not edible as they are too hard and indigestible.
